June 25, 2018 by the order number 180 of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, eSports was recognized as an official sport.
In order to develop this sport, as well as to intensify the cognitive, intellectual initiative of students, engaging in team activities in the field of eSports in the college from 20 to 23 November 2018, the first e-sports tournament in the discipline “Counter-Strike: Global Offensive” was organized. In this tournament took part 6 national teams, which included students and students of the construction college, as well as urban colleges and schools.
In accordance with the tournament grid, from 20 to 22 November, the qualifying stages of the game were held online, following which 2 teams passed the LAN final: “JoinedToOlymp” and “The Giggle Academy KZ”. LAN finals were organized on November 23 in the college assembly hall in the best traditions of major e-sports tournaments, with the participation of leading and e-sports commentators, in the best of 3 format, i.e. game up to 2 wins. The final battle in real time on the screens was watched by the full hall, and throughout the tournament the viewers were not allowed to be bored by commentators, students Gubarev Konstantin and Tlegenov Albert, who involved the viewer in what was happening in the game and made them worry about the teams. The game was played on three Counter-Strike: Global Offensive maps – Mirage, Inferno and Nuke. According to the results of the tournament, the team “The Giggle Academy KZ” won, the second place went to the team “JoinedToOlymp”, the third – to the team “The Berserkers” in the qualifying round for bronze.
