As part of the development of eSports, the Kostanay Construction College hosted the first ever mobile eSports tournament in the discipline PUBGM (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Moblie) among 1-3 year students.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Moblie is the mobile version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. PUBGM is a popular online action game in which players of up to 100 people fight in a “battle royale” (eng. Battle royale), a type of large-scale “last man standing” combat in deathmatch mode, where players fight among themselves to become the last survivor. Players can choose how to enter the match: solo, as a pair, in a trio, or in a squad of four. The last person or team left alive wins the match. The world championships are held on this discipline, the prize fund of which can be several million dollars. The games were held for two days – March 11-12, in the mode – third person view (TPP), a team of 4 people (squad), on 3 maps: Erangel, Sanuk and Miramar.
The tournament was attended by 7 teams with 28 players.
The results of the tournament are as follows:
• 1st place – team “SYNDIKAT” (group 6 ҒҚSP-2, captain Zh. N. Kurbaniyazov, M. Nadirkulov, A. Bisenbaev, B. Atakpaev);
• 2nd place – team “SKY TEAM” (group 344 D3, captain Indach OV, Karimov DR, group 5 ҒҚSP Begalin TV, Berdigozhinov IM);
• 3rd place – “Heaven’s PUBGM team” (group VTiPO 357-1, captain A. Ibrashev, D. Pushchin, D. Idiatullin, K. Isrkepov).
The player of the “Heaven’s PUBGM team” – the player under the nickname triadBadBoy became the MVP of the tournament, having made almost 28 kills in just 3 games.
Esports championships are attracting large numbers of viewers around the world. In Kazakhstan, cybersport was equated to other sports in 2018. This made it possible for the industry to develop more actively and the Kostanay Construction College, in turn, also contributes to the development of e-sports in the region, in particular, mobile e-sports, since mobile e-sports is by far the most accessible for players.
