On October 19, 2020, an event in the format of a video conference on the topic was held for first-year students, group No. 358 of the MEOSG-1 technical Department: “Destructive religious organizations. Forms and methods of recruitment”. A video conference was held by the head of Department of Kazan state University “center for the study of religious issues” of Discov D. A.The purpose of the event is to expand knowledge about the essence of such phenomena as non-traditional religious associations and organizations that undermine mental and physical health, destroy traditional values, forms of propaganda and attract new members to their ranks, as well as prevention of religious extremism of a destructive and totalitarian orientation.During the conference, L. M. Musina briefly introduced students to the main areas of work of the College’s information and explanatory group on the prevention of religious extremism. D. A. Biryukov introduced the main features of destructive religious organizations, methods of their activity, forms of attracting new members to their ranks. Students who took part in the conference clearly demonstrated an example of possible influence on human consciousness and attracting it to the ranks of their adherents. The event was held at a good professional level and had a positive educational effect.
