Students of Kostanay Construction College, like all students of different educational institutions, switched to distance learning on the occasion of quarantine due to a pandemic. And in the second semester, as a rule, scientific and practical conferences of various levels are held. Over the period of the current academic year, our students prepared the scientific papers with which they planned to speak at these events. And, despite the current situation, a solution was found – this is the holding of scientific and practical conferences online. During the quarantine period, the guys took part in two international scientific and practical conferences.

The first conference “Homeland is the basis of all the beginnings of a generation of young people”, dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of Abu Nasyr Al-Farabi, was held by the Rudny Industrial Institute and, as a result, a student of the construction college studying in the specialty “Construction and maintenance of buildings and structures”, Daniil Sheludko took second place.

The second International Conference “Actual Problems of Science and Technology” was organized by Ufa State Petroleum Technical University. At this conference, third-year students studying for the qualification “Technician-designer” received: first-degree diploma – Sagitukaz Tamerlan, second-degree diploma – Julian Bychkovskaya, and third-year students “construction technicians” Sheludko Daniil and Pak Arkady received third-degree diplomas.

Participation in conferences promotes the development of professional skills, knowledge about the latest in architecture and construction, as well as the development of abilities in the development of architectural and construction drawings in CAD (computer-aided design systems), the improvement of public speaking. Being on distance learning, students perfectly mastered the technology of conducting online conferences, so taking part in events of this kind was not difficult.

As a result, the scientific work of our students was highly appreciated by the jury members, the practical orientation and the real significance of the projects was noted. And the participants receive a new charge for further scientific work.

Of course, I would like to note the high level of organization and holding of these events in a new format.

And although the academic year is coming to an end, we hope that new conferences will take place in which our students will continue to take an active part and bring new prizes to the Kostanay Construction College.
