About the competition

As you all already know, the final of the regional competition “IT-TEACHER -2020” was held among teachers of technical and professional education organizations in Kostanay region, where the task was to create an educational youtube channel and present one it project with a student.
In this competition, our College took 1st place (the Grand Prix went to the hosts and organizers of the competition-Industrial College), in total, 11 colleges of the region submitted an application. And let somewhere in the diploma will be written only one name, but in any of these competitions behind one person always takes a team, so I think it’s a collective victory and I want to thank everyone who has supported me, assisted and gave advice on how to improve your youtube channel: Aliya Zhumabekovna, Eshelby Barlybaeva, Olga V. and of course the students: first of all, it’s the Diaz court, with whom we worked on the project, Vladislav Anshutz, who defended this project and the students of the 335 computing and software-3 who took an active part in all online-streamers of the channel were some “Guinea pigs”, raised the mood and supported the desire to move and learn new technologies in Web programming together.
The contest turned out to be interesting for me personally due to my new experience in running a youtube channel. Since the task of the contest was to create an educational channel, the “Web programming” playlist was created first. This discipline was chosen, since at that time I was conducting industrial training with the group 335 Vtipo-3. The themes for the video were taken from the PTP Module PM 05 “Creating web pages, sites using Web technologies”. The video was recorded using Zoom live with students in the stream format, which is also a trend of youtube channels, so students could immediately ask questions about the topic and get feedback.
What I see as the advantages of youtube channels is that they are accessible to a wide mass of people, that they can independently master the material through distance learning, that they can clearly perform actions, and that they can teach students who are hard of hearing by using subtires in videos.
In order to fill the channel by the specified deadline, every day we had to go live with students in the morning, where we discussed a certain topic and later make a video montage, because sometimes there were technical problems during the broadcast or to cut out unnecessary information for the format of youtube channels. Often the work was completed after midnight, as it was still necessary to prepare new material for the next broadcast and come up with some interesting tasks for students to perform.
Then, at the correspondence stage, we were allowed to post videos on educational work, project activities or other areas in the field of education. Thus, the “Educational work (curator)” playlist appeared, where videos of an educational nature or bearing a positive attitude to life are presented. The videos were attended by students of the group 341 Vtipo-2, where I am the curator, as well as other videos that I created during 2 years of working with students.
In the future, I plan to use this playlist to inform parents of my group about past events, since it is more convenient to provide a link to the video than to send the video itself to WhatsApp, filling up the phone memory.
The “75th anniversary of Victory” playlist includes a series of videos “the Story of a heroic feat”, where the next story was told in the first person-the Hero of the second world war. The videos were created with the participation of activists of our College and a student of our group, Denis Teslenko, where he performed voice-over of the text, composed the script and made a video montage. I also added videos that I edited: the project “Immortal regiment”, “Lesson of courage” in memory of our countrymen who fought during the second world war.
The “Performances and competitions” playlist includes footage from performances at competitions for the previous year, as well as excerpts from programs where I gave interviews on TV channels.
At the face-to-face stage, we had to protect our channels and present the project with the student, but due to the fact that the competition was held online, only the projects were protected. Our project was called “modeling keys and adapting the keyboard to the Latin alphabet”, aimed at creating keys with akut and a new layout of the Kazakh alphabet in Latin. The project consisted of 4 stages: 1) 3D modeling of keys created by Dias Galiev, who independently studied the Cinema-4D program and applied his knowledge of computer graphics; 2) printing keys on a 3D printer; 3) Installation of keys in the keyboard: I had to work hard to be integrated in the keyboard keys are printed as printed parts no moving parts that were required for fixing the legs of the keys; 4) Adaptation of the layout for the keyboard: it was necessary to choose not only the location of the new keys on the keyboard, but to recode the value so that when the press gave it the character with acutae and then implement it in the language library packages.
The jury liked this project for its novelty and the opportunity to become the first to implement it as a commercial project that all Kazakhstanis will be able to use.
In General, the contest gave an opportunity to try something new, it is a useful experience that is very valuable and work that is worth continuing!
