On February 26, 2020, the Abay readings “Uly Khalyktyk-Uly Abay”, dedicated to the 175th anniversary of Abay Kunanbaev, were held at the Kostanay Construction College.
The purpose of the competition: to get acquainted with the moral life of the great poet, propaganda of wisdom, the spiritual heritage of the poet, expressive reading of poems, songs. Help in art speech, independent search, creative work.
The competition was attended by school students and college students. The competition was held in three stages.
Stage 1 “Өлең сөздің патшасы сөз сарасы”,
Stage 2 “Жүйріктен жүйрік озар жарысқанда”.
3rd stage of “Kөңіlіm әndі ұғада”.
Jury: member of the Union of Writers of the World’s Peoples, professor, honorary journalist of Kazakhstan, poet, writer, Akylbek Kozhauly Shayamet. The local poet, museum director I. Altynsarina Margulan Ospanov, was judged by the poetess, aytsker, and abaedist Saltanat Utelbaeva.
When making the decision, the jury was guided by the following criteria: selection of literary text, reading, performing skills. Winners and prize-winners of the competition were determined by the results of the jury’s voting. Winners and prize-winners of the competition, group leaders and school teams were awarded with special diplomas, letters of thanks.

1st place was taken by a student of grade 5 of secondary school No. 20 Mukhtar Zhanarys,
2nd place – Esmagyzam Maral, a student of grade 8 of secondary school No. 10,
3rd place-Esengeldi Nursultan, student of the 8th grade of school No. 9, 3rd place-Sabit Diaz, 1st year student of the Kostanay Construction College.
“Zhүyrіkten Zhүyrіk Ozar Zharysganda” – in the nomination:
1st place was taken by a student of the 7th grade of secondary school No. 20 Beisen Zhansulu,
2nd place – Tulegetay Nurai, a student of the 8th grade of secondary school No. 10,
3rd place-Sybankulov Ulykbek, 1st year student of the Kostanay Construction College.
